That distinction matters more in this category than in most, because several of the conditions people buy an eye supplement to address are conditions a supplement does not address. A changed spectacle prescription, an early cataract, raised intraocular pressure and a retina that needs assessment all produce symptoms that feel like the ones this formula is sold to support, and all four are found by an examination.

The National Eye Institute sets out what age-related macular degeneration is and how it is assessed, and its pages on the AREDS trials describe the formula those trials tested. Neither is a description of this capsule.

Those four are the ceiling. Nothing on this website exceeds them, and a fifth line seen on the seller's information site, about reducing the oxidative stress associated with eye fatigue, is a mechanism claim that is not repeated here.

A structure/function statement describes a nutrient's role in normal body function. It is the strongest kind of sentence anyone selling a dietary supplement is allowed to write, and it is deliberately weaker than a claim about a disease.

The fourth row is the one that needs care. The 2023 Cochrane review of blue-light filtering lenses found probably little or no short-term effect on visual acuity, an indeterminate effect on sleep, and no randomised evidence at all on macular health. Three specific misreadings are worth heading off, because all three are common in this category and all three would flatter this product.

• AREDS2 is a secondary-prevention trial. It enrolled people who already had intermediate macular degeneration or the advanced form in one eye, and measured progression to late disease. It did not show that healthy eyes see better, and this bottle is not that formula.
• Naming an ingredient is not inheriting a trial. Lutein appears on this label; AREDS2 gave 10 mg a day for five years. Those are different statements and this website keeps them apart.
• Bilberry does not improve night vision. A systematic review went looking for the claim in placebo-controlled trials and found the positive results in the uncontrolled ones. The bilberry evidence used here is the modern eye-fatigue and ciliary-muscle work.

Where a source could not be verified, it is not cited. Where an official page blocked an automated request while remaining live for a person, an equivalent readable source was used and this website says so. The about page sets out the full source policy.

Three sources were read for what is in this product and they agree with each other: the bottle's front panel, the vendor's INSIDE VISIVRA ingredient artwork, and the seller's own product page. All three give six names, and the figures sit with the seller.
